About
I work across painting, collage, drawing, and mixed media, using abstraction as a way to explore uncertainty, memory, and the ways we construct meaning. I rarely begin with a fixed idea or image. Instead, each work develops through an open process where intuition, material, and chance guide the direction.
My paintings are built through layers of gestures, personal notes, fragments of poetry, found materials, and raw surfaces. The writing is rarely intended to be read as narrative; instead, it becomes another material within the composition, carrying traces of thought, memory, and process. I am drawn to marks that suggest something familiar without fully revealing it—like incomplete maps or fading memories. Rather than offering a single reading, I want the work to remain open, allowing meaning to emerge through sustained looking and personal interpretation.
Experimentation is at the heart of my practice. I often work by adding, removing, covering, and rebuilding, allowing the history of each piece to remain visible. Every decision leaves a trace, and those traces become as important as the final composition. I am interested in the point where intention gives way to discovery, where the unexpected becomes an essential part of the work rather than something to correct.
Across my practice, I return to questions of identity, memory, and impermanence. I am fascinated by the fragile systems through which we understand ourselves and the world around us, and by abstraction’s ability to communicate experiences that resist language. I do not see my paintings as answers or conclusions, but as places for reflection—works that invite viewers to slow down, embrace ambiguity, and form their own connections over time.
